Dear Dr Slater, Two nights ago when I came home we saw someone in the woods. You proceeded to take your gun outside and shout mild explicatives while shooting, like in the movie Signs. Reason #62 I love thee. Dear Jesus, Please use this time of controversy over the new Rob Bell book to open people's hearts and minds. Please help them remember that as trendy as this book seems, heaven and hell are very real and the only way to salvation is through you.* Dear St. Patricks Day, Sorry we didn't celebrate you this year in amish country. You see, we don't really like corned beef, beer or wearing green. Perhaps next year? (If there is a eat cheese and drink wine day, we could get behind that.) Dear Husband, a few nights ago you called me to say you had spilled "a touch" of coffee on the white duvet cover. After coaching you through how to get it out and wash it, I came home to find it IN.THE.DRYER. I have no words. (Worried friends: it had shrunk a little but I washed it again and stretched it out. sigh of relief.)
HAPPY WEEKEND FRIENDS!
*Rob Bell is the pastor of mega church Mars Hills in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He has sparked some controversy and ruffled a lot of feathers with radical and unbiblical (if I do say so myself), untruths. But instead of taking someone else's word for it, read it yourself and form your own opinion. Here is a great review of the book.
Congratulations to Rochelle! You are the WinnerWinnerChickenDinner!

You guys are so cute! That first story reminds me of when I was little and scared someone was in the dark house we were going in I would yell, "gotcha SUCKAS!!" Ha ha! Oh man this Rob Bell thing is wild right? I watched a bunch of stuff on it yesterday, if he is interested in just making a lot of money off of book sales this is certainly a good way to do it. People who support him will buy it, but I think even more who don't will buy it...crazy!!
ReplyDeleteYeah Ashley, he is going to make a killing off of book sales! And as controversial as it is, I think it has really allowed for an open, honest dialogue for a lot of people. I think that it is a good thing that we can all at least talk about it, so I am seeing this as a positive thing!
ReplyDeleteYayyyyy!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI did a small little feature on you :) You can see it here, if you'd like. Have a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of the new Rob Bell book you mentioned, but I may need to look into it.
