Saturday morning husband and I woke up to a smoky haze that settled in the springs.  If any of you have been watching the news, there are several forest fires over in Arizona and the smoke has traveled all the way here.  You can't really tell when you walk out the door, but when you look in the distance and Pike's Peak it is barely visible.  I am telling you this because this smoke ruined our Saturday plans to do an INTENSE hike.  Okay, my husband wasn't in on this idea, but he is always game so really, it ruined my plans to do an intense hike up Pike's Peak.  So after cleaning the apartment from top to bottom we decided to head out to a park north of us. First though, we stopped at Target to eat all the samples they were handing out for our "lunch". True Story. Anyways...

So far, this is one of the best parks we have visited.  They keep the grass watered so it is lush and green (which we are finding isn't the "norm" here in the springs), and they have two large reservoirs and a little creek.  It was really beautiful and we had a lot of fun.  We decided to see if our little Bella could swim because we are going home for our annual Traverse City/Lake Leelanau trip and will be in the water a lot.  So I wasn't sure if I needed to order bella a doggy life vest.  But you know I probably will anyway because I love to dress my little baby up.  Okay, another piece of information...you remember I started working. WELL I met a friend and we went out with her and her boyfriend, and some of their friends and a cute little wine bar called Swirl in Manitou Springs. Manitou Springs is such a cute/artsy little part of the area but more than anything we are so thrilled that we KNOW people to go out with again!  That makes me happy.  Here are some pictures of our weekend park excursion.

Letting her go in the water....

and she swims!

this is one of my favorite pictures, and my laptop wallpaper write now.
she did kind of look like a little rat after she got out....

husband and... an ewok?

playing in the park on the soft grass.   Everything else around here is pretty dry...

I think she missed the grass because he just lounged and loved it...

kodak moment!

switch!

cute little creek in the park...

aspen trees, love them!

senior picture!

the park was off of roller coaster road...  and it was pretty up and down just like one, we didn't lose our stomachs though.

Be sure to check out my post on all things summer from over the weekend.
The pictures might make you want to eat your screen.
Just sayin'.

BACHELORETTE TONIGHT YA'LL!

  7. That water looks so refreshing! What a wonderful day. The Horseshoe 2 fire is in the mountains surrounding my town. It's making it a hazy smokey mess down here.
