Now, I know I have been promising Charleston pictures for what seems like forever, so finally, finally I have the first round of photos for you today!  Now, I am not going to speak for my in-laws, or even my husband but I loved Charleston.  I love history--- the charm, the mystery and the eeriness of it all.  I love imagining the people who walked the streets hundreds of years ago, the shots that ran out at Fort Sumter and what the land looked like back in 1670 when the first settlers arrived.  It fascinates me.  And I often say that I was born in the wrong time period.  I want to be Scarlet O'hara, (minus the tragic life and bad attitude and all that).  You know what I mean.

Upon stepping out of the car you are transported back in time with the uneven cobblestone streets and the remarkably preserved homes.  Gas lights burn on almost every home and I swear you can smell gun powder from freshly fired muskets.  The modern stores and eateries have been beautifully married into little pockets of the city, so nothing feels out of place.  A story, a mystery, a secret is waiting around every single turn in every single alley way.  And the moss.  Oh, the spanish moss. It's magical.

charm of the city

so no big deal but George Washington was here like 4 times...for parties and such.
and I walked where he walked.  pretty cool.

Over & Out,
A
