Today is going to be a lucky day. I can feel it.
We get to meet our newest nephew today-- there is something so wonderful about new babies. So fresh and full of promise. Their first peeks at the world and sweet yawns, the soft voices we used to tell them how wonderful they are and how much they are loved. Yes. I am excited to meet a new family member.
Yesterday evening I headed to the field across from my parents house with my dad and played around with the camera little more. I love this shot of a four leaf clover my dad found. Again, this is SOOC (straight out of camera) and I can't wait to get back and edit all of these. I love taking pictures at this time of day, right when the sun us starting to sink down in the sky and heads for the tree line. If I am developing any sort of style, I would say its probably going to lean towards these hazy, romantic sundown pictures. I just love them, and the emotion they evoke.
--Which, really isn't that what photography is all about anyways? Capturing that emotion that you feel in a moment? Little sunbursts at sun down are things we actually see with our eyes when we are out this time of evening so capturing it on film makes me so happy because I can look at this picture and it triggers a memory, and I feel like I can step into the picture and be there, picking clovers, blowing dandelions and soaking up the last bits of sunshine of the day.
As I sit here typing this post I am drinking a fresh cup of coffee after a quick run in the early hours of the morning with my dad. My mom is flipping through a pottery barn magazine pointing out things she loves, Bella is exhausted and passed out on her side from chasing frogs into the pond and my dad is taking a nap on the couch. A small breeze from a fan is keeping us cool and the birds are coming out as the sun comes up higher and higher.
I am thankful for moments like these-- not hurried or forced, just relaxing and comforting. It's nice to be home around the people you love the most, and its times like these that make everything else worth it.
Yes, today is a lucky day...
Over & Out,
A
