| my sweet Bella! bottom paragraph explains how I found her here.. |
This week has been interesting because I am gearing up to fly to Seattle and shoot two engagements and a maternity session and also pack up miss Michaela. I am also recovering from shooting an all-day Relay For Life event which I will be posting about on Thursday. On top of that, my in-laws will be in town the day I get back from Seattle (and let's be honest, I can't count on husband to clean things to my standard so I need to get everything in order before boarding that plane)! We also have amped up our workouts--- which really just means we are making sure to get in some exercise everyday-- no excuses.
Yesterday was one of those weird lupus days. I know that it is active in my body because I have the signs on my wrists, elbows, knees and neck. Small shiny, red raised areas that look like hives. They will quickly go away but for now are reminding me not to push it too much. I am still making time for the gym or a run no matter what though. I am testing my body this month, I want to see how much I can demand of myself. I am being smart about it though, so don't worry about me. Actually, this brings me to a pretty interesting question. I talk a lot about lupus but most of you have no idea what that exactly IS or what it MEANS. Is that something I should write a short post on? Just so you know what I am talking about, and that I am not contagious or anything? I would really love feedback on that one.
Our time in California is going by so quickly and I want to press the pause button. I love so much being near San Francisco and I know that that my heart is going to ache for it when we leave. Isn't that amazing how places can take up spots in your very soul and lodge themselves there? California in general is one of them. Even LA...I think about our time there and get nostalgic about our evening walks, driving through Hollywood and picking up veggies from farmer's markets. Sigh.
Today I will be putting on my domestic pants and seriously getting this apartment squeaky clean. Bella and I will go for a walk and I will drag my butt once outdoors to put in a distance run. Speaking of, one more question for you. Would you rather read about RUNNING TIPS tomorrow or STRENGTHENING EXERCISES? please, please leave a comment because I am going out to put together the fitness post for tomorrow and I want to talk about what YOU are interested in hearing!
In closing, I am going to leave you with the sweetest picture of my Baby Bella (up top!) that I got on my iphone yesterday. I was cleaning and couldn't find her and went into the bedroom to find her buried and curled up in her pile of toys. She had crawled in, army style (at least it looks that way) and was napping away. Oh, I love my little peanut girl.

I would be interested in reading more about lupus, because I don't really know anything about it.
ReplyDeleteAs for tomorrow, I think I'd like some running tips - and maybe include some tips from your husband on running for people with injuries

I second almost every comment above. I'd love to learn more about Lupis as I have basically no idea what it is.
ReplyDeleteI'd also love to hear what you have to say about running, particularly avoiding knee injuries/ pain.

So happy to hear San Francisco has taken up a place in your heart! Some cities just do that :) and SF is such an amazing city. I love seeing it from other people's perspective.
Good luck on your run!
I would love to read running tips. When you mention a distance run, how far is that? I am working on getting my distance further and any tips you can provide will be so greatly appreciated!
ReplyDeleteSan Francisco is the best place to live!
ReplyDeleteAnd I vote for running tips!
Running tips, as I hate running and would love to know your secrets. I find it inspirational that you talk about lupus on here. It makes me view my own struggles more positively.
ReplyDeleteI understand what you mean about longing for a place. Places can hold such special "places" in our hearts!
One of my really good friends has lupus and frequently has to try to explain to others what it is too. Her doctor recommended that she exercise regularly to manage it easier and ever since she amped up her workout routine she's been feeling better overall.
ReplyDeleteI would love a strength post tomorrow but running tips are always welcome too :)
I hope you're feeling better!
I would enjoy reading about your lupus. How it affects you. More about it in anyway. I actually was getting tested for lupus when I was 15, thankfully I did not have it. <3 your blog and your super cute pup! My Leia and your Bella would be fast friends!
ReplyDeleteDefiantly would want to know more about Lupus...I know two people that have it but it seems like they both have different symptoms/mood swings etc.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I would love to know more about strengthening exercises. I am not much of a runner...I have bad knees
And, I love that picture of Bella it's so sweet! I see she has the raccoon toy that has no stuffing. My Sophie has one and LOVES it!
it really is crazy how a place can leave a spot in you but I feel the same way about certain places too. and I vote for running. I recently started running and could use some tips!

Bella looks so comfy!! I would love for you to do a post on lupus, because I don't know a thing about it. I would love running tips!! Mainly how to get started. Haha I know it's great for your body, but I just can't make myself do it. Also, bad knees run in my family so I think that is one reason why I don't....besides just being lazy. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat picture of Bella KILLS me! We want a dog so badly, but it's just not the right time financially. I just found out that one of my best friends has lupus, I know a little about it, but I'd love to know more!

ReplyDeleteOk, so that picture of Bella is adorable! Also, I would love to read some more strengthening tips - maybe thighs and butt? Finally, I just found out I'm traveling to CA for work in a few weeks -- too bad Palm Springs isn't close to you!
ReplyDeleteBella is just so precious!
ReplyDeleteRunning please! I've started running outside, taking it pretty slow to avoid injury, but I'd love tips. Is it better to push myself long distances or do intervals?
ReplyDeleteHelp me!
I lived in LA for a short 10 months. While I was there I was so homesick. I missed Texas so much. But as soon as I left I couldn't have appreciated it more. With its quirks, beauty and of course the most amazing farmers markets you will ever find!
ReplyDeleteI'd be interested to learn about lupus. And I think running tips would be great. I'm trying to get into running...I've been trying for months lol I can't seem to keep up a regular running schedule. Bella in the bed of toys is beyond adorable! I have a chihuahua named Bella. Yay for small dogs! Although I have a big one too :)
ReplyDeleteI would love if you wrote about lupus. I know the basics, but that's about it. I've shown some weird symptoms of it and it's unnerved me a little. I would definitely love more information!
ReplyDeleteI'd be interested in reading about your lupus. I have an idea of what it is but I can always benefit from being more informed.
