| this is what shannon at GBO would call a WOOF. I airbrushed my entire face. |
Two days ago I was editing a wedding I shot in California (the image above is from that wedding.... yes, my second shooter and I were messing around during some down time)-- anyways, I was editing this wedding which I took WAY too many pictures at [rookie photographer mistake.... to panic and take a million of the same shot over and over and over again]. So finally, I was down to the last big chunk of photos and was almost ready to post my sneak peek on facebook and then?
and then I threw up.
And continued to throw up....
About every 45 minutes from yesterday morning to yesterday afternoon I lost my cookies. I couldn't move, or get out of bed. I had to cancel a senior session and a newborn session this morning (If I got a newborn baby sick I would die!). I was totally taken out of the game. It. Was. AWFUL.
It seems like something is always happening like that.... I can be on a roll and getting things done and then my lupus flares up, or I get an unexplained bout of the nastiest flu I have ever had. I wish I could tell you the details, but then you would probably be so grossed out you would never come visit me here again and I would lose all my internet friends and fall into a deep, dark depression and well.... okay, probably not but I will still keep all the gross highlights to myself.
One good thing about being sick? My little Bella. She stayed cuddled to my side for the entire day yesterday. I literally slept 10 of the 12 hours in the day, and she stayed right with me. And then when I went to bed at 8:30, she followed me in like a little trooper and slept until morning. She is so sweet, and whoever thinks having a pet is too much work clearly doesn't have a little best friend like I do. Seriously, she is so precious and I am so glad I have her.
Speaking of Bella, she has been complaining that she hasn't had much time on the blog lately so she will have a post all her own coming soon. It may include her in her outfit choices for Halloween :)
I hope everyone had a much better Tuesday than I did. Today I WILL be putting up that wedding sneak peek on my facebook page so stay tuned!
update: the sneak peek album is up! Check out the photos here!

Awww I hope you feel better dear! Stomach bugs are no good!
ReplyDeleteI definitely understand how difficult it can be to get your name out. I've been in the process of starting a photography business (DE/MD/PA areas - I'm not competition, ha!) and have even begun offering free sessions to build my portfolio. It isn't easy getting your name out there. Especially when you don't know many people!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling better! It's no fun to be sick. And that's adorable that Bella stayed with you the whole time. How sweet :)

Hope you're feeling better! How sweet of Bella to keep you company. My dog doesn't quite "get it" when I'm sick. She'll jump on the bed, shove a toy in my face, I guess she thinks that because I'm not feeling well is not an excuse not to entertain her.
ReplyDeleteVomiting is the worst. I hope you're feeling better!
ReplyDeleteOh man, what a bummer! Throwing up is just the worst especially when its every 45 min! Hope you are feeling MUCH better.

Oh my goodness! How awful!
ReplyDeleteI have a solution to vomiting. Vinegar. Apple Cider Vinegar is the best, but pretty much any will do the job. About a tablespoon (preferably before you actually throw up), should keep you from vomiting. However, even if you already have, take some (which might make you throw up again, but take it again and you should be fine).
After my time in Europe, where I ended up deathly sick with a stomach bug twice, I decided vinegar will be a must for all travel.

I hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteI think people get the impression that it is easy to be a photographer. Like you get to make your own hours and do the shoots that you choose. They don't understand that even in the best of circumstances with the most beautiful subjects it can take hours and hours of editing.
So stressful and so rewarding.. such is life :)
Awwww Bella! What a sweetie :) I can't wait to see her choices for Halloween costumes! And I really hope you feel better soon - that sounds awful.
ReplyDeleteI love that your little Bella is such a sweetheart, that's exactly how my Bella is too. :)
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better!
Feel better friend!! :(
ReplyDeleteI love your photography! Keep the photos coming :) (Even the Photo Shopped woof-faces!)
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon!

I'm so happy and excited for you and your business! Like i've said before, your photographs are absolutely amazing. I was stalking your photography website (lol) and looking through your pictures and I was just stunned. Such beautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better Ashley!
Your photography never ceases to amaze me! You are truly talented. And there is really no worse time to be sick then when you are working :(
ReplyDeleteI've started my own wedding planning business down in Florida and am in the same boat. Trying to work my full time job AND plan weddings and do marketing and get my name out there is exhausting, but worth it I hope! Good job, love your photography and hope you feel better soon :)

Aww.. I hope you feel better. =) Congratulations on your new business!!! My husband loves photography as well and he's thinking of making it into a career but he likes his job too much and photography would probably just be a hobby =)
