| just hangin' out.....har har. |
Dear Husband, This week hasn't been the best of weeks, but I am so thankful that I have you by my side. I wouldn't want to experience this life with anyone else but you.
Dear Bella, You are an obedience school graduate! Too bad that really means nothing....except that
sometimes you "leave it". And by sometimes I mean 1 out of 50.
Dear Blog Friends, As much as I love sharing recipes, outfit posts and doing giveaways I hope you took the time to read
what I wrote yesterday. At the end of the day, nothing else matters without Christ. Not our jobs, or our families, not the world series, not who is going to be president--
nothing.
Dear Celebrating Love & Marriage Night Out, I am so excited to be photographing this event, dining on some yummy Italian, laughing to a hilarious christian comedian and dancing the night away with my honey. Can't wait!
Dear Ashley Gollasch, you were the winner of the $25 shop credit to
tru.che! Congrats! For those that didn't win, you still can use the coupon code
ADVENTURE at checkout for 20% off! And don't fret, next week is full of more giveaway goodies! Dear Blog Friends, You can still grab a sponsor spot for this blog. Feature your blog/shop/giveaway here!
And finally, Dear Husband, You got your iphone in the mail this week and when I told you it came your text read "Be still my heart". You are a dork times a million, but I love you for it.
huge p.s.--the comment section has changed and I will now be responding directly in the thread! I think this will be a much easier way to interact with you guys! excited!
Now grab the button and write your letters!
PLEASE add the button or my link to your letters post.
I know I haven't had one the last few weeks but I am changing that, so please, please link back here.
It kind of makes me sad when I visit your letters but there is no link back--if you are adding your url below you are getting the traffic to your blog from visitors so it would be nice if your readers could also come here and visit other letter writers blog as well. Deal? mmmk. Glad we talked about that. :)
I did read your post yesterday and I'm so glad I did! Thanks for the reminder that God is good....we have to be faithful to listen! :) Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for taking the time to read! We do have to be faithful to listen-- and sometimes removing the distractions so we can hear from Him is the hardest part!
DeleteYesterdays post was so good. Your faith in God is amazing! Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading Candace! I think these trials and sorrows we have been facing has just pulled me that much closer to trusting in Him so even though things aren't working out like I hope sometimes, I know that its all a positive, because He loves me so much. <3
DeleteHappy Friday, Ashley!! It was a tough week on my husband and I too, but with each other and our God I know that all things are beautiful!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is such a great attitude to have-- its hard one to have too! Even though we know that, I sometimes struggle with reconciling my feelings in the moment and reminding myself that my future is already laid out and in good hands!
DeleteAww that's always how I feel about my husband too. Even when it's been a rough week there is no one I would rather go through it with.
ReplyDeleteSometimes, just having your best friend by your side makes the bleakest of things a little better. So glad your husband is that person for you too! As it should be!
Deletethank you again for doing the link up. I really love reading everyone's letters!
ReplyDeleteI am obviously not phoneblogging saavy and I posted my link twice. How do I delete one of the entries? sorry about that. :(
Also, yes I just finished reading your post from yesterday and man, it was awesome. when God is directing us somewhere where we are unsure, it sure does feel like those rushing waters are going to eat us up. I love that story of Joshua, shows exactly what God is about: faithful, faithful, faithful.
Have a wonderful weekend Ashley!!
Well thanks for linking up! The letters are something I look forward to every single week! So fun! No worries about the double entry :)
DeleteThe stories in Joshua are so great, I LOVE how much Joshua loved the presence of the Lord (its written that he would linger in the temple, even after Moses left)--- I want to strive to love the Lord and being in His presence that much as well!
Have a great weekend yourself!
Ha! That's a funny text. I love getting fun texts like that from my husband. haha :)
ReplyDeleteBoys are funny aren't they? :) At least it wasn't a text about using the bathroom--- I get those quite often as well!
DeleteYou and me both! Why do boys think we want to know that stuff? If it isn't a text I get to hear about it in person :-S
Deleteat least you have (hopefully) never gotten a picture.......... take a minute to digest that..... yes. THE HORROR.
DeleteNo none of those...haha. I think he knows better than to send anything like that because I control the phone account. I'd turn off his phone if he sent that and he wouldn't remember the password to access our account to turn it back on. :D Evil, but a working threat!
Deleteyou are a genius!
DeleteYou are so gorgeous. And thanks for sharing that post. God loves us! Thanks for pouring out what is in your heart and what truly matters.
ReplyDeleteXO,
Whitney

Thanks for reading! Sometimes I get caught up in the frivolousness of blogging and then am prompted to just share my heart. I hope it can be more of a balance in the future--- and I want to use this space to glorify Him! Have a great weekend!
DeleteI love the button =) We just reserved a space for our Bella to attend doggie boot camp for a week during Thanksgiving. She think it's okay to drag me down the street and has decided that she doesn't like other dogs. I'm hoping they can work out her kinks. Our neighbor sent their dog there and had great results so we'll see =)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the photo shoot! What a fun night you will have!
Oh, my Bella is the same way. She loves to chase/bark at/bully other dogs regardless of their size. Its like a blind rage, she will run across roads and put herself in danger to get the other dog. Our beginner class didn't really help with that, but we are hoping to do an intermediate and get some one on one training! Good luck at your Bella's class!
DeleteYou are gorgeous! I love that top, very cute. =)
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better! My Bella graduated obedience school too...she can sit and shake lol. My roommate recently taught her "wait" and it is a miracle but she actually listens and does it!
So cool-- we are teaching Bella shake right now, but I would much rather she would STAY once she is sitting and listen to me! Unfortunately, she is almost two and we just started training so its extra hard to remove old habits and replace it with good ones--- she thinks she is a human and that she doesn't have to listen and its totally my fault for giving her whatever she wants 24/7!
DeleteThat is such a lovely picture. I don't always get here often (busy with a new babe), but I should more often. If I ever forget your link, give me a kick in the butt :)
ReplyDeleteI think your sweet new baby is much more important than reading blogs or managing a blog! Enjoy the precious time you have with your new addition!
DeleteSo glad I read your post from yesterday! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking the time to read Marcy-- I hope you got a little something from it!
DeleteThanks for Friday's Letters! Just fond you ~ very nice!
ReplyDeletewell hello to you! so glad you found this little blog, I hope you enjoyed reading a few people's letters! :)
DeleteAhhh doggies and their training. My little one will never be potty trained, and I think I've just come to accept it!
ReplyDeleteYou know, Bella had a hard time with that-- sometimes she would go to the door and sometimes she would sneak off and leave us a little present. (she still does sometimes). I think putting them on a schedule helps, like every two hours no matter what take the dog out. Get them into a routine. Our Bella has been getting up in the middle of the night to go out and we had to take her food and drink away every night at 8pm to try and break that habit because neither of us want to get up and go out at night (especially here, when its in the 30 degree weather at night!) I hope you can get the pup trained!!
DeleteI loved your post from yesterday! It was so refreshing and such a great reminder :) So thank you!
ReplyDeleteyou are very welcome-- thanks for stopping by and reading my thoughts! Its so nice we have this community to gain knowledge and refreshment and new insight from!
DeleteHaha, "Be still my heart" is absolutely something I would have said to.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday, girl! :)
xo
haha--- I guess the iphone just does that to people! :) have a great weekend!
DeleteThank you for yesterday's reminder. Really puts things into perspective.
ReplyDeleteaw, thank you for reading! I sometimes lose sight of perspective and you are right, it does really put things back on track to think how everything is already taken care of if we trust, listen and obey!
DeleteYou have by far my favorite linkup, of all time!! I always look forward to Friday's Letters, so thank you :)
ReplyDeleteYour post yesterday has got to be the best thing to ever come across blog land... andddd your hubby is presh!
Have a wonderful weekend!!
well thank you, thank you and thank you! I am so glad you love doing the letters as much as I do! So fun! I am also so glad you enjoyed yesterdays post! thanks for visiting me around here julia!
DeleteHi Ashley! I totally read your blog post from yesterday and loved it :) As much as I do love your recipes and fashion posts (and photography!! you're awesome), a post from the heart is what connects us all. I think a lot of people are scared to talk about God and/or personal issues on their blog, but deep down it's what bonds us all...and the blog world is SUCH a great support system. Totally agree about none of this mattering if it weren't for God, though...He is everything and it's important to remember this DAILY (I need to remind myself of this more often). Anyways, hope you have a great weekend!! :)
ReplyDeleteYes Sarah I agree with everything you said! It's been hard for me to open up about really personal stuff sometimes but then I think how amazing the emails and responses I get are--- and how things like talking about a miscarriage opens up such a huge discussion for women who aren't at that place in life yet and don't know how hard and common it is sometimes! I also want to be very transparent with my faith because I do struggle with things but I want to connect with other women who are right there on the same page, or wiser in their faith who can be an encouragement! thanks for being a reader here and thanks for your kind comment! <3
DeleteI couldn't agree more, that nothing else matter but your faith. All this hysteria over the playoffs and petty arguments over the election have had me perplexed this year because of the fact my husband is deployed. Nothing else matter to me more than his safe return. And I only have my faith in God to help me through that.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like having a loved ones very life possibly in danger to put things in perspective for us! I hope your husband is home to you soon, and safe!
DeleteLove this post and the one from yesterday! :) I linked up and shared an inspiring story!!
ReplyDeletexo
Thanks Lauren, I will be sure to check that out!
DeleteYou are gorgeous + totally look like Kristen Wiig in this pic! love, love.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I think its the weird thing I am doing with my mouth!
DeleteOmg lady, I feel so bad! When I was writing my post this morning I realized I had forgotten your button on last weeks post. I blame it on vicodin and just having my wisdom teeth out but I am so sorry! Totally wasn't intentional. What a doof I am :/ and I can't even tease your husband, I get that way about new technological toys too ;D
ReplyDeleteHey its okay! No big deal! :) and yes, I get the geeking out over technology but seriously, you should see him, its EMBARRASSING! :)
DeleteLOVE the new button!!
ReplyDeletethanks! its actually an older one, but I am going to start putting up a few to offer readers a variety!
DeleteOur dog has that same "selective hearing" problem! hmm... little brats!
ReplyDeleteI'll get the new button for next week.. I have the grey one this time! Grabbed it from an older post. :P
Have fun at the night out! Happy Friday :)
I think the smaller the dog the brattier the tendency! but then, they are also that much more adorable..... ugh, I am such a sucker :) have a great weekend!
DeleteLovely letters Ashley, I really like this idea, so am glad to have joined in again. Agree with your point about Christ so I am off to read the post in question!
ReplyDeleteOh dear, little dog! Still, better than zero!
Thanks Kezzie, glad you could link up! I hope you enjoyed the post from yesterday and yes, little bella...I guess one is better than none!
DeleteAshley! I had been wanting to link up to your fridays letters for SEVERAL weeks now, but haven't quite gotten my act together. I had been following some friends that were. So last week was the first week I DID link up and was sad because I couldn't find your button anywhere to post! I had been meaning to email you all week and ask you about (because I really thought the typewriter was cute and was missing seeing it) And then I did write a fridays letters today, but didn't get it linked up. Glad you have your button back up! And as a side note I was playing around on your blog last week (looking for a button and then just playing) and I really liked reading your blogging 101 post. Good reminder that I'm blogging for me and my family. And maybe I'll just go ahead and grab your button and link up now for the heck of it. Why not :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha--- well I am glad I finally got my act together and got the button code back up! so glad you liked the blogging 101--- I still have to stop myself every now and again and do a heart check on WHY I am blogging, etc. anytime it feels like a job its not worth it which was why I took a long lazy break from blog world this summer!
DeleteThanks for having a link up. I add myself earlier today then realized the link was bad...I hate when that happens, so I came back and deleted and re-added {is that a word?:P} myself. Looking forward to joining in on more Friday's Letters!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
yeah, that inlinkz is so small its hard to see what you are typing! glad you got it figured out! have a fantastic weekend yourself!
DeleteAsh! that pic! oh my gosh how stunning! love love love it!
ReplyDeleteCouples night out sounds like it is going to be a blast! you just seem so happy... love love love it!
CarissaExplainsItAll
thanks riss! I set up my camera for my dad, showed him how to adjust for the lighting and he took it! haha I am excited about tonight, its a lot of work to shoot an event but I am going to make sure to put down my camera and enjoy myself too! and yes, I am really happy--even though we are going through a really rough time right now I know its not in my control and I am taken care of and loved my God and it just takes a huge burden off my shoulders. Honestly, I don't know how unbelievers get through things sometimes! I think I would just cry ALL THE TIME! haha
DeleteYou're so beautiful! Love this top :) Hope the event over the weekend went well :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteoh lordy-- it went okay. basically I suck at indoor photography. haha
DeleteASH!!! could you get prettier? if you answered, "no", then you are correct. you are so stunning...inside and out! i dont know specifics but i've seen some medical status updates and just want you to know i've been praying for you! love you friend!
ReplyDeletethanks ash! I will have to email you about it, but thank you SO MUCH for the prayers, we need all that we can get!
