WELCOME!

Hello!  I am so, so excited to be sharing this new space with you. New name, new design, new everything.  It has been a long time coming I think.  Last May when I launched my photography business I decided I wanted to keep this space to share my photos, and my life in the same ways I have been doing for over two years now.  I hope now that this blog is a little more navigable, user friendly and an all around pretty space.  I hope to be sharing lots of my future photography work, recipes, printables, fashion posts and so much more.

Q: So what's the meaning behind the name The Sweet Season?  
Originally, I started this blog not knowing just how gigantic the blog world was.  So I didn't put much thought into naming my blog, or the design behind it, or the quality of my photos.  I simply wanted to document what getting married and living life with my husband was like.  I think at first our friends and church members read my ridiculous posts on how I stabbed myself trying to cook one of our first dinners (that resulted in a trip to the ER guys), or how I didn't know you had to change the dryer lint and almost set our apartment on fire (yikes!).  And then, I started finding other blogs, big blogs, crazy huge blogs!  And I started reading, and making friends and my own blog start to grow.  I remember thinking how crazy it was when I had 100 followers. I was floored, are there really 100 people who want to read what I write about?!  As the months passed I wanted to change my blog title, but have struggled with just what I wanted the next phase of my blog to be. Which brings us to now, to the sweet season.

In the bible, in Ecclesiastes 3:1 it says, "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear town and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and  time to dance, a time to scatter stones and time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to men, a time to be silent and time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace".

I have always loved that verse, and it has brought be overwhelming peace through the many seasons of my life.  As I was reading that verse a few months ago, I was struck with this idea that every season of my life is a sweet season because of my faith in the Lord.  Every trial, every happy moment, every sad thing-- its all sweet and good and wonderful.  And those things, the core of goodness and life, are what I want to share in this space with you. All of sweet things, the good things, every season of my life.

So, with that said I am very excited to go into 2013 with this shiny new blog to document the good times, the bad times, beautiful photos, fun projects, family, friends and the very sweetest things.

For those of you who have read my blog since the beginning, I want to say thank you.  The friendships I have made directly because of this blog are irreplaceable and the emails, comments and support I have received through some of the harder times is indescribable.  Cheers to the new year!

and now for a very large P.S.: Happy birthday to my dear husband Jonathan who turns the big 3-0 today! I am so blessed to have this man alongside me in life. I can't wait to see what special blessings are yet to be poured out over this man of God whom I got lucky enough to be able to call my husband. Love you babe!
