It's here! Closing day! We are headed to sign papers in about two hours and then we are officially, officially homeowners! And can move out of our in-laws house (although, they are going to miss us SO much, I know. haha) We have a few hang-ups to work through still, like our lack of furniture. Unfortunately I married a man who has a really, really hard time making a decision without researching every possibility so we still have no couch and even if we order it today, we are putting custom fabric on it so its going to be about 8 weeks. We also don't have a dining room table or a small table for our breakfast area, side tables, lamps, rugs, bedding for our bed or pillows, a shower curtain for our master and well, lots of other things which I am sure I will realize once we get in there.
I will be posting some pictures (we have some pretty large renovations planned for the house, including removing the oak trim and doors and replacing with tall white baseboards and white doors for one). I guess what I am saying is don't expect any magazine worthy photos until well into the summer. Maybe by then we won't be watching tv with camp chairs and tv trays. Fingers crossed.
Either way, its our closing day! HOORAY! I'm also 14 weeks pregnant today, but I feel like the little bump I had last week disappeared! It's making me a little nervous, I'm wondering if baby is growing in there at all! Did anyone else not really show until later in their pregnancy? Its not just me? I can still fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes and jeans, and only sometimes I have to unbutton my pants button, but otherwise... I just look like I have overeaten and neglected the gym a bit. Moms, reassure me please!

I was convinced I had a belly around 13 weeks but some mornings I felt like it disappeared! By night time it would be much bigger! It wasn't until week 17 or so when I felt like it stayed around! I've had friends that are tiny like you that don't look pregnant until after week 20 so don't worry!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your house! My hubby and I just closed on our very first house a week and a half ago and it's wonderful!
ReplyDeleteAlso? I didn't start showing at all with our baby until about 16 weeks. Normally you start showing later if it's your first baby and earlier if it's not your first. I'm sure your little one is busy growing and is just playing a bit of hide and seek right now. :)
Congratulations on the house! So exciting!:) The first few weeks will probably be pretty overwhelming, as you will end up needing things you never could have even imagined, but just take a deep breath and remember to tackle one thing at a time. That will help! Also, don't worry about the bump! I didn't really have much of a bump until between 16-20 weeks. Before then, you really couldn't tell I was pregnant at all. And some days, the bump definitely seems bigger than others. That's normal. It sounds gross, but the the first few weeks, a lot of what you see is gas and bloat - baby is not big enough to make much of a bump yet. But don't worry! He/she will be one day soon and then you will def see a bump! I wore all of my pre-preggo pants up until almost 24 weeks and am 26 weeks now and still wearing pre-preggo shirts, dresses and sweaters. I've had to purchase some maternity work slacks, but everything else I wear is just normal clothing. I was a size 4 before pregnancy - I think sometimes when you're on the smaller side it's easier to wear your normal clothing longer. But that's just my experience!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your house; so exciting! I didn't start showing for a long time and in the beginning when I did it was all just bloat. Don't worry, I'm sure your little baby is growing away in there. :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new house! I am sure everything will come together perfectly.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on closing!! I can't wait to see some pictures! You look fantastic. I found out the gender at 19 weeks, and while I could tell that my tummy was growing, others could barely tell (and strangers probably had no idea I was pregnant!). Don't worry about your belly. It will grow and grow and grow!
ReplyDeleteHere's what I looked like at 14 weeks. http://aikensinseattle.wordpress.com/2012/04/08/happy-easter-and-14-weeks/
And this is what I looked like by the end! http://la-stitch.blogspot.com/search?q=birth+story
Lauren, I remember you at 14 weeks. Ashley looks just like you pregnancy wise!! Hehe...I love it. I always remember you'd wear a belt over anythingggg, just to make the bump look more obvious!
DeleteCongratulations on closing day! How exciting!! :)
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who didn't show at all until she was 6 months pregnant! I swear it was like overnight and BAM she had a baby belly. So I wouldn't worry about it! Everyone is different. Congrats on the house!! Can't wait to see pictures!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the house! So exciting! Everything will come together soon, no worries!
ReplyDeleteAnd, I barely had a bump until at least 18 weeks. About 23-24 weeks I finally got a round belly. Savor it while you can, it only gets uncomfortable from here on out. I am actually counting my blessings that I didn't get big right away because you will surely be limited once that happens.
Here's what I looked like at 14 weeks :)

Congrats on the house! I'm sure you are fine, the same thing happened to me.. I had a bump between weeks 12-14, then it disappeared for a week or two and I panicked, but then it popped right back out. I think your uterus is moving up during those weeks so it kinda "sucks back in" for a bit. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely.. and that bump will keep growing! :-)
I didn't start showing until almost 19 weeks. One day I went to bed feeling "chubby" and I woke up and my baby bump had literally popped out! Totally normal :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on closing! It is so fun being a homeowner, but overwhelming at times trying to figure out how you want your house to look. When the hubs and I closed on our house, we literally owned nothing, and were like, "huh? now what?". Enjoy making your new house a home!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm about 22 weeks pregnant with my first baby, and feel like I didn't really look pregnant until about two weeks. I think for some women, it just takes awhile. That whole bloat stage with the disappearing belly is tiring; but hang in there! You will have a cute baby bump before you know it :o)
Wahoo! Homeowners and soon to be baby owners! Real life bliss! Congrats! Everything will fall into place and someday you might even miss those camping chairs and tray tables (but probably not).
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new house!
ReplyDeleteWith my first pregnancy I was still wearing my pre-pregnancy jeans at 20 weeks. By that point I was using the hair tie trick, but I didn't buy maternity pants. Fortunately, after that it was warm enough for summer dresses. I wasn't so lucky this time around. I'm 16 weeks and wearing maternity jeans.
Congrats Ashley! What an exciting time in life for you guys! Don't worry, the bump will come!!!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Brandy Jane Mabel
Congratulations on becoming a home owner and an even bigger congratulations on being pregnant!! I'm so happy and excited for you :) I was so worried about why I wasn't showing, but I didn't show until way into weeks 20 something. And I wore some of my pre pregnant jeans until 30 weeks, with the button undone. But I don't recommend that... Super uncomfortable! Once I started wearing maternity jeans I was in heaven! Don't wait too long to buy those, you'll regret being uncomfortable until that point :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on Closing Day! It's such an exciting day!
ReplyDeleteMine is just now starting to be a belly ALL the time. I was always not showing in the mornings, then by after dinner I felt huge!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on closing!!! I really did not start showing until I was around 20-22 weeks...so don't worry pretty lady.
ReplyDeletecongrats, lady!!! so happy for you and your sweet growing family! i would not worry about the baby... i've heard that from a lot of people that it takes months to really have a bump!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on both the little one and the new home! I'm sure that you will have fun making it your own.
ReplyDeleteWAHOO! Closing day, how exciting! One day I will know the joy of that feeling!

congrats on your new home! so exciting!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the closing! I got a hand cramp from all of the papers we had to sign at our own closing, so good luck!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was preggo, I really didn't start to show until 20 weeks, and I've heard that it takes awhile with the first one. :-)
with my first i didn't really start showing until about 4-5 months. i don't know what gives, but with my other two i started showing almost right away.
ReplyDeletecongrats on the closing girl, when we first moved into our first place together we hardly had anything either. but it's fun to start filling it in together! congrats again!
Congrats on the house! So exciting!
ReplyDeleteAnd as to the bump, I didn't really buy maternity clothes until about 18 weeks and didn't really NEED them until a few weeks later. I'm sure all is well!
Girl, I didn't show until around 18-20 weeks with my first. The second... now that one was a little faster. ;-) CONGRATS! Can't wait to see pics!
ReplyDeletecongratulations to so many happy blessings! Dont skip the camp chair days, those are some of the funnest, and its nice to see a blogger who doesnt wait until life is "perfect" to post whats going on.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog!
xoxo

completely normal for the bump to come and go at that stage, esp since you're thin. i'm 22 weeks along now and the same thing happened to me. i researched it and it's normal, could be bloating, gas, etc. too. don't worry, in a few weeks it will be there and it will be there to stay!
ReplyDeleteI started noticing my bump at around 20 weeks, but it seemed like nobody else noticed it until I was practically 30 weeks so don't worry too much! And Congrats on being new homeowners!
ReplyDeleteI was still in my size 5 pants up until the sixth month! Exploded the last three months, but no worries I believe its completely normal! However, just to be sure you eat EVERYTHING you can get your hands on! lol Now you have an excuse to do so! Best Wishes and CONGRATULATIONS!
ReplyDeleteI literally didn't show AT ALL until around week 18, and even then it was just a teeny little bump! You look great, and congrats on the house!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new house - so exciting :)
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a wonderful day!

What exciting times, new house and a new baby = lots of fun! Once you own a house there is always something to buy and something to renovate, it's a never ending project. :o) Happy days to you!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting you'll soon be decorating and putting your stylish touch on the home to make it your own. You don't need lots of stuff, just the things you love and want to see every day :) There are always places like Target with affordable homewares to get you through and get you the essentials.
ReplyDeleteMy bump would come and go all the time, and most days I didn't look pregnant at all, up until about 16 weeks. That's when I officially "popped", although people who didn't know didn't start noticing until somewhere around 20-22 weeks. Now I'm at 31 weeks and there is NO denying it! But with your first I hear that's how it usually is...definitely doesn't make it easy on a newbie. I was so nervous something was wrong until my belly was huge and I could feel him moving all the time. You're almost there!
ReplyDeleteYou look awesome! I didn't have a true bump until I was almost 20 weeks!
ReplyDeleteYou are officially homeowners! Congrats! :) You look adorable! After you posted your bump, I had to look back at when I officially popped. It was about week 15-16 when I just didn't look like I had too many tacos & margaritas! ;)
ReplyDeleteWOO WOO. Congratulations!! So very exciting!! You look fantastic.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the house! I just found your blog from Meggan's Moments' sidebar. I'm glad I popped over!
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to let you know that I've always found the first few months of pregnancy to be overwhelming and wrought with worries and fears! I'm 15 weeks with baby #3 and while I am certainly larger than you are (you skinny thing!), the same fears and worries are crossing my mind! That bump will show up soon enough! Hang in there!
Congrats on being a homeowner! Yay for closing day. =0) That's awesome.
ReplyDeleteWith my first two babies, I didn't show until I was about 5, almost 6, months along - really! That was when I was pretty skinny pre-pregnancy (which - you look to be pretty skinny). By the time you get to 7 months, it will probably hit you all at once! So, I'm a mom, and I'm reassuring you, you're probably just fine.
Oh, and I am REALLY loving that camera you have there.

I'm 13 weeks now and still in pre-pregnancy clothes. My bump looks like a beer belly more than anything. I have no hips for baby to settle into so it will be all out front before long. My hubby's cousin, though, is super thin and has wide hips (read: modelesque) and she doesn't show til her 3rd trimester!

ReplyDeleteWoohooo! Closing and move in day are over. So thrilled for both of you! Can't wait to see more pics of the house. and the baby!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new house. Becoming a new homeowner is such an exciting step! Your baby bump is so tiny and cute. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations lady! Hope the closing goes smoothly! I didn't have a bump until I was 18 weeks and even then it would vary in size from day to day!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new home. I have been married for 3 months now, and my husbandclosed on our house about 1.5 months before our wedding day. I had practically just finished school and hadn't started working yet and he lived in a one bedroom of a "converted mansion". Needless to say, we had no furniture or anything to start out with but things started coming together. Our house is still not fully furnished the way we'd like, but it's OUR house. You know? All of that will come with time. Cherish the moment and the process. Congrats again. :-)
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I don't have children so I cannot speak from experience, but a good friend of mine didn't announce their pregnancy until she was 5 months along. She wasn't showing at all. Everyone was so shocked when she told them she was already 5 months.
ReplyDeleteYay on the house signing! You look great. Don't worry about not showing. It's normal with the first baby especially if you are thin to begin with. I didn't begin showing with my first until the half way point. I'm tall and was very thin. Was is the key word there. ;) Enjoy it! Those subsequent pregnancies won't be that way. I promise.
ReplyDeleteIts actually good you're not showing yet! I didn't have to move into maternity clothes till 23 or 24 weeks with my first. Around 19 or 20 weeks I started wearing a bella band with my pants because they were too tight to button, but before that my normal pants would fit right under what little bump I had (that was barely visable to other people). And yes, enjoy it now. My second pregnancy has not been so kind to me :)
ReplyDeleteYay for closing....what an exciting time....even minus the furniture. :)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteNo one even knew I was pregnant at 20 weeks! Try not to worry. Your bump will be there before you know it!
ReplyDeleteYou are so tiny that I feel like your baby bump may not show for a while. I had a teacher who was so tiny & I swear she didn't show for the longest time & then all of a sudden her adorable baby bump appeared. I wouldn't worry Ashley =) You are gorgeous & I think pregnancy is going to suit you so well!
ReplyDeleteYay for homeownership!!! & give yourself another 3-4 weeks - I bet you'll POP then! (& it's totally normal. That was one of the things about pregnancy that surprised me - how long it can take to start "showing" with an official bump) :)
ReplyDeleteI look back at our gender reveal party at 20 weeks and I can't even really see a bump at all. I didn't start wearing maternity clothes until second trimester. Your baby bump will definitely appear, don't worry.
