Over the past few weeks we had been planning on attending a friend's wedding down in North Carolina but with Jonathan's recent job situation and the total uncertainty of our future we opted to stay home in Michigan. Well, in typical Jonathan fashion he decided around 12:30pm on a Friday that he really DID want to go and that we should just make the (12 hour) drive and do it. So I frantically packed up, dropped Bella off at camp grandma and grandpa and around 2pm we headed out. The drive was NOT comfortable, and I was exhausted but we finally made it around 2am. Thankfully, the next day made up for the drive and we had a breakfast like those I get when I am back in Georgia (cheesy grits, biscuits and molasses, country ham, eggs, pancakes, bacon, sweet tea, heart attack...) It was amazing and we spent the morning walking around a farmer's market and enjoying the warm weather. Later we attended the wedding which was so fun, and Sunday morning at 4:45 our alarm went off and we headed back to Michigan. I actually started having some serious pain as we started out, enough that I called the doctor who advised me to come into the hospital if the pain didn't go away (I am still nto sure if it was braxton hicks or something else). We stopped, got breakfast and prayed that if it wasn't serious that the pain would just go away, and LITERALLY-- it went away immediately and I was fine for the duration of the ride besides just being really uncomfortable in our rental car. So, my advice to anyone in their third trimester? Avoid LONG car rides.... trust me. Here are lots of pretty pictures from our single day in NC!
